
After being at battle for over three years, idol group JYJ (Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu) and SM Entertainment has finally come to a conclusion to their never-ending lawsuit. Back in July of 2009, JYJ filed a lawsuit against their former entertainment company SM due to the infamous 13-year contracts SM artists were under as well as the unfair profit distribution among the members. There is no clear statement as to what exactly happened from 2008-2009 between the members and the company, however, numerous conspiracy theories do exist on the matter.
Because of the three lawsuits JYJ filed against the company, SM made it extremely difficult, if not impossible for the group to appear on television whether it was to promote their music or their personalities. As the back and forth libel and slander continued between the two groups, on Wednesday morning, November 28, 2012 a mutual agreement was made, making JYJ currently free from their contract under SM Entertainment. In addition, JYJ can now promote freely and both groups will no longer interfere with each other’s activities.
