In a recent interview on “One Night of TV Entertainment,” Psy expressed his thoughts on the recent “Gangnam Style” craze that has swept the global.
He also discussed the changes that has occurred between his relationship with Mr. YG. Psy stated, “CEO Yang Hyun Suk (YG) talks to me differently now. When I call him, he used to answer ‘Why? What? Why?’ but nowadays, he answers ‘CNN dongsaeng.”
This craze or syndrome has been proven with all the flash mobs across the world as well his recent visit to the United States. He was also a guest on CNN, morning programs and many more. Not only was his a special guest on TV shows but he was also mentioned on several other shows like Chelsea Lately. His song was also played on several radio station in the United States as well.
Psy made everyone laugh when he said, “(In the US) about one out of a thousand people recognize me. I have to wear the sunglasses. I never took off the sunglasses in the US. It was dark all the time.”
Regarding the worldwide popularity of ‘Gangnam Style’ Psy said, “I never thought of it. This time when we went to the US, I met some producers and had interviews there. I never thought that it would be popular overseas. I think it’s because of the indigenous visual. I think there is no one that looks like me.”
