JJ Lin’s contract with Ocean Butterflies will be ending soon. Therefore many record companies are looking to get JJ Lin to sign with them. Warner Music has been rumored to be had offered the singer a nine-hundred million TWD contract (which is roughly 31.3 million USD).
Warner Music’s CEO of Asia Pacific, Sam Chen, does not deny this rumor. He goes on to state that other companies such as EEG (from Hong Kong) and other Taiwan and mainland companies are very intested in JJ Lin.
The reason why JJ is being offered such large amount of money to sign with companies is because JJ has always signed his management and record contracts with the same company, which is not typical today. By doing so Ocean Butterflies was able to make three-hundred million TWD a year.
JJ Lin has been with Ocean Butterflies for ten years and at the CEO stated his desire to keep JJ during a celebration party for a concert. The CEO stated, “JJ, no matter where you go, you’ll always have Ocean Butterflies stamped on your forehead.”
